Spring has sprung
Spring has most definitely sprung. Winter has gone and I promise you I have not been in hibernation, although sometimes in January and February it felt like a better option. Since I last wrote on here, I have moved house, Christmas has been and gone, lots of things have been happening in Indigo Crow Gallery, I had a wonderful holiday in Grenada, i have been exhibiting in Gunby Hall, Doddington Hall, and am currently exhibiting in Indigo Crow Gallery and I have some new paintings to show you. I also have decided to produce more prints, mainly to order. Updating that page will follow shortly.
The most exciting news is that at Indigo Crow Gallery we now have the option for customers to pay over a period of 10 months with interest free credit. This applies to pieces that are over £200. You would have to be there in person to apply, it is not available over the phone or on the website.
I have painted a a few new small landscapes and some much bigger ones. Sometimes it takes a long time, especially for the larger ones to reach a stage where I am happy. Sometimes I am happy one day but when I go back to it, it feels like i have gone backwards. Then suddenly, something happens and it is there.
Painting to a deadline is definitely something I should avoid, it never works. Playing with paint, using different tools to make marks, adding layers and taking them away, sometimes taking it all away and starting again, this how a painting evolves. So when someone asks me, “How long did it take?” it is almost impossible to answer. As little as half an hour, or 6 months of trial and tribulation! The painting here is one such. Stanage Sunset was recently at Doddington Hall.
The next important event on the calendar is The Art Trail, organised by Creative Lincs. You can look on the webpage by following the link. Creative Lincs Art Trail
